Fat Transferin Milwaukee, WI

What is a fat transfer?

At our office in Milwaukee fat transfer is the process where we remove fat from one area of your body and transfer it to another area of the body. The most common areas for enhancement are the buttocks, breasts, face, and hands. It is a more natural alternative to breast implants, buttocks implants, facial implants, and works well for facial enhancements in patients that want to avoid unnatural fillers, using their own body fat instead.

Fat Transfer Consultation

You will meet with Dr. Timothy Zelko for a consultation.

Dr. Zelko strives to provide you with the best fat transfer Milwaukee has to offer. That's why he will carefully listen to your goals and help you decide if fat transfer is the best way to accomplish them. With different procedures to choose from, Zelko Aesthetics may propose other treatment options that you might consider in the event you are not a good candidate for fat grafting.

For some people, a custom treatment plan may include more than one procedure. For example, if you have excess skin and body fat, then a skin removal surgery or skin tightening procedure with liposuction may be recommended. Top Milwaukee cosmetic surgeon, Dr. Zelko, also offers Tickle Liposuction, which reduces body fat while the patient is awake, as well as BodyTite to tighten loose skin.

How should I prepare for fat transfer?

Dr. Zelko recommends that you minimize the use of aspirin, ibuprofen, and certain supplements (such as vitamin E, ginkgo biloba, and ginger), as these may increase bruising. Please refrain from nicotine use for several weeks before and after your procedure. Any form of nicotine slows the healing process. Full instructions are provided leading up to the day of your treatment.

The fat transfer procedure is best for patients that have stubborn fat bulges or fat rolls that are not responding to diet and exercise efforts. This 2-in-1 procedure is used to reduce body fat and re-purpose the fat to enhance the area of your choosing. Fat grafting provides a natural-looking result by adding volume for more youthful curves.

However, it can’t provide a substantial size increase like implants can. For example, fat grafting to increase breast size may only allow you to go up 1 to 2 cup sizes. There must be adequate skin laxity to allow room for the fat graft to survive. Tight skin may compress the fat, making it difficult for the blood supply to keep the fat graft alive. While liposuction provides fat reduction, it is not a weight-loss procedure. Nor is it a substitute for diet and exercise. If you’d like to remove fat and add volume to increase bust size, improve facial contours, fix volume loss on aging hands, or get rounder buttocks, then the procedure might be a good fit for you. Patients must have enough existing body fat to be considered for the procedure. Come speak to Dr. Timothy Zelko at a private consultation to learn if fat transfer is suitable for you.

Recovery After Fat Transfer

The fat transfer recovery time varies based on the extent of fat removal. Fat transfer procedures that remove only a small amount of fat have little to no downtime, while more extensive procedures may require a few days off of work. If fat grafting is performed during another procedure, such as a tummy tuck, this may increase your recovery time.

It is normal to experience tenderness, swelling, injection site redness, and sometimes bruising. These fat transfer side effects are temporary and subside over the coming days to weeks, again based on the extent of your procedure.

Fat Transfer Results

Autologous fat transfer, also known as fat grafting, provides a visible result instantly. However, the fat graft requires nourishment from the blood supply to remain intact. Not all of the fat graft will survive; This is normal and expected. Therefore, it takes a few months after fat transfer to see the final result.

Unlike body or facial implants, a fat graft is considered permanent and never needs replacing. You can maintain the results of fat transfer long-term by maintaining your body weight. Gaining or losing weight may undo the results.

How much does a fat transfer cost in Milwaukee?

The fat grafting cost varies based on the extent of surgical fat reduction, the liposuction technique that is used, and the size of the body part you wish to enhance. Fat grafting may be less costly than implants in some cases, but in other cases, it may cost more. For example, the average cost of buttocks fat grafting across the nation is $4,277, nearly $1,000 less than the cost of a buttocks lift or buttocks implants. This represents the average surgeon fee. If anesthesia (local or general) is needed, this may increase the price. Dr. Zelko specializes in a unique form of liposuction known as Tickle Lipo that does not require full sedation, so patients may avoid operating room and general anesthesia fees using this method.
